Barisal is one of the 7 administrative divisions of Bangladesh. Located in the south center part of the country Barisal is called the land of Dhan-Nodi-Khal (Rice, River and canals). Barisal division is criss-crossed by numerous rivers and canals.
Recently we visited the backwater of Barisal and a seasonal guava floating market around 20 miles from the city. We took a tooktook and reached Jagadishpur then ride a Trowlar (Local Engine boat). The Trwaler started to run through the narrow canals and after 2 hours reached to Vimruli, the biggest Guava garden of Bangladesh. After whole day passing in backwater, we returned Barisal city in the morning.
